welcome to eliphas-arts!
who is eliphas?
Eliphas is the little blue character you can see scattered over most of these pages. Basically he's a simple computer model I keep playing around with as I try to learn character animation using the software package Cinema 4D. Every few months, or whenever I learn something new I rebuild the model or rig the skeleton a different way. I'm about to start a complete overhaul to make the rig more efficient, and then I can make some short movies using him.
what's new?
I was recently asked by a friend of mine if I could produce an animated piece for the local church choir. The idea is to have a dancing skeleton as part of
a production they are working on. I haven't been told the reason they want a skeleton as yet but I've managed to get something up and running. I've uploaded
the basic walk cycle to the top of the page. When it's finished I'll post the entire piece.
After many test renders, I'm finally happy with my picture of the lamp. I originally posted this on a forum over a year ago, and it's only now I think I've got it right. Also recently I finished my latest piece of music, called TLGWTBH, I hope one day to animate a video to go with it, but that may take some time.
The first tutorial introduction to 3d is finished, and gives a broad view of the basic concepts behind computer
generated 3d graphics. I have also started work on the second tutorial which will cover high dynamic range lighting techniques, and should be ready soon.
coming soon.
Due to a lack of time lately work seems to have halted on my first short film 'The Challenge'. I intend to make it using Cinema 4D, poser, and Vue 4 d'Esprit, the soundtrack can be found in the music section or by clicking here. This film will probably get it's own corner of the site as and when I have enough things to show, but at the moment my main deadline is the bones animation.
Another thing I'm currently involved with is making computer games using the Unity engine, so keep a look out for my first game, 'fire hockey' Based on air hockey but with a few more explosions, and of course violence! The latest update on this project is that the programming is finished, and I now have a fully working game. All that is left is to add the textures and I can publish it. Now I guess I'll have to add a games room to the site, something I've been contemplating for a while!
Finally keep an eye on the navigation boxes on the right hand side. These will contain links to the more recently added content, and some of my favorite projects, while on the lower part of the left hand side you can find links to some of my favorite web sites.
